The word spread easily within the islands because the traders had established extensive contact with the people coming in and out of the coastal area. These made it a bit famous by the sixth century to Dar-es-salaam in Tanzania and most Kenyan regions. Currently, the biggest part of Kenya’s population is now in a position to speak Swahili.
